Chris Hummel (in photo) is joining Schneider Electric as chief marketing officer, executive vice president and member of the executive committee. Reporting directly to Jean-Pascal Tricoire, chair and CEO of Schneider Electric, Hummel has responsibility for the company’s marketing.

The company describes Hummel as having a “rich background in marketing, sales and general management and is a true international executive, having lived, worked, and successfully led organizations in places like the US, Germany, Russia and Singapore”. He joins Schneider Electric from Unify (formerly known as Siemens Enterprise Communications), where he most recently served as chief commercial officer and launched its new brand and helped lead the commercial vision behind its communication and collaboration offerings. Previously, Chris held several executive sales, product and marketing roles at SAP and Oracle.

“Chris’ strong marketing, technology and solutions background will support the execution of Schneider Electric’s strategy,” said Tricoire. “His broad experience as a general manager and long career living and working in high growth economies, will add to our capabilities and help developing a closer and broader relationship with our customers and partners.”
