Global packaging solutions specialist tna announced that it has launched a vertical form fill and seal (VFFS) rotary polyethylene packaging system, which it claims is the world’s first of its kind.

Belonging to the company's tna robag range, the tna robag FXIS 3ci reportedly offers efficiencies of up to 99% of target output while reaching speeds of 150bpm.

Its new rotary jaw design uses advanced impulse sealing technology to deliver quality packaging.

Product waste is reduced due to the optimized product transfer from the multi-head scale through to the jaws, said the company.

In addition, tna's innovative rotary double flat jaw (RDFJ) configuration doubles the throughput when compared to the other standard single jaw packaging systems in the market.

The tna robag FXIS 3ci builds on the features of the tna robag 3ci series, such as the film system for film threading, and stainless steel construction for ease of cleaning, while also delivering better PE sealing and bagging.

Its polyethylene bags are claimed to be suitable for a range of packaging applications, including fresh or frozen vegetables, salads, ready to eat fruit, and pre-wrapped candies.

The product is also easy to use as no mechanical adjustments are necessary when changing product or film for a range of applications and bag sizes.

The tna robag FXIS 3ci requires minimal floor space to maximize productivity because of a small footprint due to its compact design.

tna managing director Michael Green saiud the company is excited to be unveiling its unique VFFS PE machine at PackExpo 2012.

"The tna robag® FXIS 3ci really is a groundbreaking addition to our existing innovative packaging portfolio, and expands our capabilities to an even wider range of applications."
